Hi-Fi Worldwide (“we”, “our”, “the platform”) is a community directory for Hi-Fi venues. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights over it. We keep this short and plain — no legalese.
Account data
When you sign in with Google or email magic link, we store your email address, display name, and profile image (from Google). You choose a username on first sign-in — this is your public identity on the platform.
Content you create
Venues you submit, photos you upload, verifications you make, problems you report, and your home rig profile are stored in our database and associated with your account.
Session data
A session token cookie is set when you sign in. It is used exclusively to keep you logged in and expires after 30 days of inactivity.
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Vercel) logs IP addresses and request metadata as part of normal infrastructure operation. We do not query these logs except to diagnose problems.
Google OAuth
Used for sign-in. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that interaction. We only store the name and email Google returns — no tokens are retained after the sign-in handshake.
Cloudinary
Photos you upload are stored on Cloudinary’s CDN. Cloudinary may process and transform images per their service terms.
Mapbox
The map uses Mapbox GL JS. Mapbox may receive your approximate location if you use the “locate me” feature, subject to your browser’s geolocation permission prompt.
Resend
Transactional emails (venue status notifications) are sent via Resend. Your email is transmitted to Resend solely to deliver those messages.
We set one cookie: sessionToken — a secure, HTTP-only cookie used to maintain your login session. No tracking cookies, no advertising pixels.
Account data is retained until you delete your account. Expired sessions are cleaned up periodically. Server logs are retained per Vercel’s default retention policy (typically 30 days).
